When deciding if a site deserves a spot in our most important post of the year, we consider several factors—creativity, design, user experience, and the complexity or ingenuity of the development are the ones we value most.

This year, we’re putting a bit more emphasis on sites with outstanding graphic work, rather than those focused solely on 3D experiences. While the latter are certainly impressive, they’re a different category altogether, and it wouldn’t be fair to compare them directly. That said, we’re not ruling out sites just because they include 3D elements.
