If you’re passionate about web design, marketing, and everything in between, don’t miss this new section where I’ll be sharing the very best resources on these topics.
In the world of web design and marketing, staying up to date is essential. I’m not about to reveal life on Mars here, but I might just help you discover a blog or two you haven’t come across yet.
Here’s how this series will work: I’ll give you a quick overview of each blog, highlight what makes it stand out, and wrap up with a personal message to the blog’s author.
For our very first feature, we’re spotlighting Luis M. Villanueva.
None other than… Luis himself. Luis is a true SEO expert. He started out in the wild world of search rankings back in 2009 with his own blog, which, after a lot of hard work, began bringing in around €200 a month. He then launched a second blog that proved even more successful (earning €800 a month), eventually selling the second and moving on from the first.

(Sorry for the interruption—can’t resist a good GIF)
He later co-founded an SEO agency with a partner, which did quite well, but ultimately decided to go solo as a freelancer. With all the experience he’s gained from personal projects and client work, he’s now focused on his own freelance and blogging journey.
He’s been featured in various media, interviewed on YouTube, and spoken at multiple conferences—there’s no doubt he’s a powerhouse in the SEO world.
In short: SEO. Luis shares content that’s genuinely useful for professionals, along with experiments where he tests out different strategies and shares his findings.
While my own focus is more on design and development, I’ve read a ton about SEO—and I’m actually in charge of SEO for Code Barcelona, currently ranking on the first page for “diseño web barcelona.” So I know my way around. What I love most about SEO is reading about experiments and trying them out when I get the chance. On Luis M. Villanueva’s blog, you’ll find some truly fascinating experiments.
What really stands out is his clear, approachable way of explaining things, with a personal touch—and yes, he even throws in emojis to break up those hefty blocks of text. The deep dives are worth it, covering every angle in detail.
Plus, the blog’s design is genuinely appealing and makes you want to keep reading.

From all of us at Code Barcelona: we give your blog a big thumbs up. While researching SEO, I’ve come across your posts more than once—which just goes to show you really know how to get your articles noticed.
And one more thing (according to your “About Me” page): if you were born in 1988 and it’s now 2018, it’s a bit odd that you’re still 28. Looks like you’ve mastered not just Google’s algorithms, but the secret to staying young! If you’re reading this… time to update that bio, mate! (Consider this a friendly hostage situation—maybe we’ll let it go if you toss us a strong backlink…) All in good fun and with the utmost respect. 😉

P.S. How do you feel about a naked backlink? 😉
If you’re interested in SEO and want to learn more, keep up with Luis’s latest posts—you’ll pick up a ton of knowledge, and have a great time doing it.
