In this article, we take a look at five web design projects where illustration takes center stage.
Graphic design and illustration often go hand in hand, but for a variety of reasons, they’re not always used together.
Illustration is a creative skill that not all graphic designers master, which is why it has become a specialty in its own right. Combined with the fact that it’s not always the right fit for every project, it’s relatively rare to come across illustration work in this field.
That said, with illustration emerging as a key trend in graphic design for the coming year, we’re seeing more and more creative projects where illustration plays a leading role.
Here are five standout examples where illustration truly shines.

A series of illustrations developed for Nike’s new Journal 5 Facet platform, focusing on five key aspects of fitness: movement, mindset, sleep, recovery, and nutrition.
We find this series particularly compelling for its distinctive style, which perfectly conveys the brand’s identity and values.
The illustrations are dynamic and diverse, with unique perspectives and forms, and the color palette is exceptionally well executed.
