To wrap up this week’s series of posts, I’m excited to share a truly inspiring course: the Home Ceramics Course for Beginners.
Working with clay can be a meditative experience, especially when guided by the care and passion of Paula Casella, Fine Arts graduate and founder of Bambucito Cerámica Orgánica. With over 15 years of experience, Paula will teach you everything you need to know to get started in the world of ceramics.
This course is the perfect companion to “Glazing Ceramics for Beginners,” where Paula introduces the fundamentals of decorating and glazing your ceramic pieces.
Learn hand-building and glazing techniques to create your own decorative pieces
You’ll make four mushroom-shaped sets.
The first three sets will introduce you to the three basic clay modeling techniques and three glazing methods, resulting in unique tableware for different uses (breakfast, jewelry holder, etc.).
The fourth set will focus on slab-building with added textures and a different glazing technique.
No previous experience is needed—just a desire to explore the creative process of ceramics.
For materials, you’ll need a basic starter kit (modeling tools, sponge, cutter) available at most craft stores, as well as clay, a rolling pin, old cloths, plaster powder, glazes, and acrylic paints. Please note: for some course activities, you’ll need access to a kiln, which can often be rented at local studios or artisan workshops.
The Home Ceramics Course for Beginners is carefully structured to blend theory and hands-on practice. The course is organized as follows:
U1: Introduction
U2: Getting to Know the Materials
U3: Mold Making and Clay Modeling Techniques
U4: Glazing Techniques
U5: Uses, Care, and Transport of Your Pieces
Final Project

Paula Casella Biase is an Argentinian artist based in Madrid since 2002, where she completed her Fine Arts degree and a Master’s in Education.
With over 15 years of experience in the arts—as a teacher, muralist, and ceramics designer—Paula is passionate about nature and great food. Bambucito was born from her desire to combine these two loves.
For Paula, enjoying a good meal on handmade tableware is a true pleasure, and she strives to share that feeling with everyone who owns a piece of her art.
She finds great joy in seeing her students work with clay. Disconnecting from the outside world and connecting with the material is truly rewarding.
She invites you to join this relaxing and creative journey—you’ll love it.
This course is designed for anyone curious about ceramics and eager to explore the creative process behind this hands-on art form.
