Today we bring you a post that, while it has nothing to do with web design—or even graphic design for that matter—is certainly an intriguing one. This time, we’re talking about “Cable Porn.”
As a web and graphic design studio, our artistic focus is usually limited to these two fields. But art is always evolving, and new forms of creative expression are constantly emerging.
We’re often surprised by the unexpected ways people find to express art, and what we’re about to show you is no exception.
“Cable Porn” is an internet-born phenomenon that, as you might guess, revolves around cables. The goal? With plenty of time, zip ties, and—most importantly—cables, enthusiasts arrange them in the most meticulous way possible to create, as a (presumably) happy side effect, a visually striking structure. Some of us design websites; others, it seems, design with cables.

The creators of these cable masterpieces never miss a chance to photograph their work, which, as you can see, is nothing short of impressive.
This “movement” has spread across social media, and it’s worth noting that there’s even a dedicated thread on the popular website Reddit.
Users share not only photos but also videos showcasing the entire cabling process.
At first glance, it might seem surprising, but it all makes sense when Alberto from accounting asks us to swap out his network cable because his connection is acting up…

…and the only clue he gives us is that his cable is yellow.
If you want to learn more about this fascinating phenomenon, just do a quick Google search for “cable porn” and enjoy the images captured by these meticulous designers.
