Created by Immersive Garden, a leading web design studio<\/strong> in France, this stunning example of web design and development<\/strong> tells a story through a series of animated illustrations triggered by scrolling.<\/p>\n

Make me pulse<\/h3>\n

February\u2019s site of the month, Make me pulse, features STUNNING web animations using canvas technology.<\/p>\n

The website is the portfolio of the studio itself. Like the previous entry, this web design studio<\/strong> is also based in France.<\/p>\n

Ifly took home the March site of the month award. This flawless web design<\/strong> uses creative shapes to showcase 50 captivating destinations from around the globe.<\/p>\n

It was designed and developed<\/strong> by Born05, a design agency<\/strong> based in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Falter’s inferno<\/h3>\n

April\u2019s winner takes us on a journey through animations built with “three.js”. Falter offers a critique of modern society.<\/p>\n

With animations and interactive maps, the website immerses you in the journey and lives of four Yellowstone bears.<\/p>\n

Resn<\/h3>\n

June\u2019s winner, Resn, is an experimental web design and development<\/strong> project that\u2019s a bit unsettling, with random sounds and images triggered by holding down the mouse button.<\/p>\n

A fantastic piece by Resn, a web design studio and agency<\/strong> based in the Netherlands. Without a doubt, one of the best web designs of 2016\u20132017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Solarin<\/h3>\n

\"mejores<\/a><\/p>\n

July\u2019s site of the month was “Solarin,” a website showcasing a next-generation smartphone. With intricate 3D animations, the web design<\/strong> is truly impressive.<\/p>\n

The website was designed and developed<\/strong> by Mediamonks, also based in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Diamonds<\/h3>\n

\"mejores<\/a><\/p>\n

August brought us summer, sun, and Diamonds, a well-deserved site of the month.<\/p>\n

Designed and developed<\/strong> by RESN, it uses Canvas and video playback simultaneously, resulting in a video you can alter by pressing keys. Once again, the experience is a bit unsettling\u2014a RESN trademark.<\/p>\n

Kikk<\/h3>\n

\"mejores<\/a><\/p>\n

Kikk took the prize in September. The main feature is a bubble that grows as you scroll.<\/p>\n

The website was designed by Dogstudio from Belgium.<\/p>\n

Pottermore<\/h3>\n

“Discover your patronus,” October\u2019s site of the month, is an interactive experience that draws you into the world of Harry Potter.<\/p>\n

The web design<\/strong> was created by Active Theory, a web design studio<\/strong> in the USA.<\/p>\n

Paper Planes<\/h3>\n

And finally, with the last site of the month yet to be announced, November\u2019s winner is Paper Planes.<\/p>\n

This interactive experience lets you launch a virtual paper plane with a message, which can be caught by anyone in the world visiting the site.<\/p>\n

Designed and developed<\/strong>, like the previous entry, by Active Theory. Outstanding work, and certainly among the best web designs of 2016\u20132017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Conclusions<\/h2>\n

As you can see, the trend is moving increasingly toward animation, 3D, and interactivity. Still, it\u2019s important not to overdo it\u2014user experience should always remain as smooth and satisfying as possible.<\/p>\n
