That\u2019s why we dedicate a weekly feature to analyze outstanding design projects\u2014this time, focusing on brand creation.<\/p>\n<p>Today, we\u2019re highlighting the Indigo Award 2019 winner for restaurant branding: Ally Chow.<\/p>\n<h2>Ally Chow, featured project<\/h2>\n<h3>by Hover Creative<\/h3>\n<h3><b>Project background<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>This project began with the need to create a brand identity for a new restaurant launched by renowned chef Trent Scarriba.<\/p>\n<p>The restaurant specializes in Asian fusion cuisine and is defined by its unique setting and location.<\/p>\n<p>The challenge was to ensure the brand and visual identity communicated both the culinary concept and the restaurant\u2019s location in Queensland, Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, part of the restaurant\u2019s outdoor seating is set in an alleyway\u2014a feature with great potential to enhance the dining experience.<\/p>\n<p>With these simple insights, the name \u201cAlly Chow\u201d was born: \u201cAlly\u201d referencing the alleyway, and \u201cChow\u201d serving both as an Asian surname and a colloquial term for food.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3584\" src=\"https:\/\/codewebbarcelona.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/127_diseno_marca_restaurante_ally_chow_005_identidad_visua_taste_upper_west_side_code_barcelona.jpg\" alt=\"127_diseno_marca_restaurante_ally_chow_005_identidad_visua_taste_upper_west_side_code_barcelona\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3585\" src=\"https:\/\/codewebbarcelona.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/128_diseno_marca_restaurante_ally_chow_005_identidad_visua_taste_upper_west_side_code_barcelona.jpg\" alt=\"128_diseno_marca_restaurante_ally_chow_005_identidad_visua_taste_upper_west_side_code_barcelona\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" \/> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3586\" src=\"https:\/\/codewebbarcelona.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/128_diseno_marca_restaurante_ally_chow_original-6d83653bca597dabfbf66ceb22b0d2ae.jpg\" alt=\"128_diseno_marca_restaurante_ally_chow_original\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The result: \u201cThe Alley of Food\u201d or \u201cChow Alley.\u201d However you interpret it, the brand\u2019s personality was already taking shape.<\/p>\n<p>Simple yet highly effective\u2014sometimes the best ideas are right in front of us.<\/p>\n<p>Once the name was established, the rest of the brand identity followed.<\/p>\n<h3><b>The design project<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>This branding project included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Name creation<\/li>\n<li>Logo design<\/li>\n<li>Business card design<\/li>\n<li>Menu design<\/li>\n<li>Interior signage design<\/li>\n<li>Exterior signage design<\/li>\n<li>Interior design<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Every element was crafted with a consistent visual language to reinforce the restaurant\u2019s unique character and concept.<\/p>\n<h6><a href=\"https:\/\/codewebbarcelona.com\/contacta\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Own or manage a restaurant? The first is the name \u201cAlly Chow\u201d\u2014a clever double meaning that fits the concept perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>For the logo, the initials \u201cAC\u201d were designed in the style of a Japanese hanko stamp, enhanced with brushstroke textures inspired by Japanese calligraphy.<\/p>\n<p>Another highlight is the finishing\u2014true design excellence lies in the details.<\/p>\n<p>Here, the materials are refined, elegant, and highly distinctive, resulting in a brand that is both powerful and enduring.<\/p>\n<p>This branding project deserves a closer look\u2014study the images and appreciate each element both individually and as a whole.
